Bursaries

Bursaries for individual instruction are available for music instruction with the student’s instructor of choice. These tuition credits will be awarded to students who face social or financial barriers to pursuing music education.

Criteria:

  • Student must face an economic or social barrier to music education
  • Parent/guardian must supply their household financial information
  • Student and parent/guardian must supply a letter of interest and support
  • Student and parent/guardian must commit to student’s regular attendance
  • Instrument rental or purchase (if applicable) is the responsibility of the student

A limited number of bursaries are available and are awarded on the basis of need and dedication to music. Students who have received bursaries in previous years must reapply yearly. Applications will be made available for the current bursary opportunity on the website or by emailing info@mcma.ca. The application will not be accepted unless all necessary documents accompany the application and an in-person interview may be requested. We reserve the right to withdraw the bursary should the student miss more than two scheduled lessons without notice, or at any time for any reasonable cause.
