The Manitoba Conservatory of Music & Arts is Manitoba’s premier house for advanced musical instruction. Our programs include individual music lessons as well as group music classes. Learn a new instrument or dust off an instrument you haven’t played in a while with one-on-one lessons. Our highly-qualified faculty members teach a wide range of instruments and musical styles. We offer music lessons for beginners as well as for those in need of advanced musical instruction. Located in downtown Winnipeg, our music school offers music lessons for children as well as adults, from guitar and piano lessons to voice lessons and more! The student/instructor combination has an impact on a student’s learning, achieving and enjoyment of their musical experience, so it’s important to make the best match possible. That’s why our process includes an assessment of the students’ needs to match them with a faculty member for a free consultation.

Individual instruction is available for virtually every genre and instrument, including piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, fiddling, voice, guitar, ukulele, drum kit, percussion, saxophone, flute, clarinet, recorder, french horn, harmonica, accordion and mandolin. If we don’t have an accredited instructor for the instrument you wish to study, we will seek to find one for you.
Instructor rates vary depending on the academic credentials and teaching experience of each instructor. 30 minute lessons range from $20–$30 per lesson, 45 minute lessons from $30–$45 per lesson and 60 minute lessons from $40–$60 per lesson.

The regular academic year starts in September and runs until June. Students may register for either a full year or 12-week seasonal sessions.
Beginning students generally start with a half hour lesson once a week. Once a student’s skill level has moved up to an intermediate level, lesson times usually increase to 45 minutes once a week. Students with a high level of commitment who have progressed to advanced repertoire increase their lesson time to one hour per week.
We offer customized learning plans, developed by our highly qualified faculty, to help you progress faster and further.
Many families have two or more children playing different instruments at different levels at different times at different locations. If this is you, contact us as we will do everything we can to schedule all your students for the same time.
Ages 0-7
Our early childhood group music classes are a fun and engaging place to introduce your child to early musical concepts such as basic rhythms and matching pitch. Our highly qualified music instructors use the Orff method with your child incorporating singing, movement and percussion instruments.
Ages 16+
We have an array of group music classes designed for adults at every stage of their musical journey, including workshops, musical theatre and music appreciation classes. The instruction is impeccable, and you’ll find friends who love music just as much as you do!
