Job posting: Early Childhood Music Instructor (contract)
Join the Manitoba Conservatory of Music & Arts team! We are looking for a creative, energetic and innovative instructor to deliver early childhood programs both on-site at the MCMA, and on location for various off-site program partners in the city. Programs may include group parent-and-child classes, as well as preschool classes where children attend independently of their parents, and individual instruction in our Musical Foundations program.
We are looking for an instructor who can deliver programming which gives children the musical foundations necessary to pursue instrumental or vocal study later, as well as introduces gross and fine motor skills, social engagement, and the love of music. The instructor should be familiar with delivering lessons both in-person and through virtual platforms. Previous teaching experience would be an asset.
Ideally, applicants should have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in music, Music Therapy, music education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience such as Orff, Suzuki, or Kodaly. Candidates currently pursuing post-secondary education in music may also be considered. The successful candidate will be subject to a Child Abuse Registry check.
Candidates should have availability to teach on Saturdays and/or weekday daytime, with the potential to extend availability as the needs of the organization change. When applying please note days and times for your teaching availability.
