Drum kit & percussion lessons

The Manitoba Conservatory of Music & Arts is Manitoba’s premier house for advanced drum kit and percussion instruction. Our downtown Winnipeg music school offers private drum lessons and percussion lessons for children and teenagers to adults, from beginners to those seeking advanced instruction. Our highly-qualified faculty members teach a wide range of musical styles for drum kit and percussion. Every one of our drum kit and percussion instructors is highly qualified to teach. A majority hold Bachelor degrees, many possess Masters degrees and some have earned Doctorate degrees. Our drum kit and percussion instructors consider themselves musician/teachers — professional musicians who teach. Our drum kit and percussion teachers offer customized learning plans tailored to each student’s goals and skill level, to help them progress faster and further. Meet with our faculty before registering to find the right student/percussion instructor combination and ensure the best learning experience possible.

Our student/percussion instructor matching service

The student/percussion instructor combination has an impact on a student’s learning, achieving and enjoyment of their musical experience, so it’s important to make the best match possible. That’s why our process includes an assessment of the students’ needs to match them with a faculty member for a free consultation.

If you have a specific percussion teacher in mind, please call our office at 204-988-7650 to find out more about available music lesson slots in their schedule.

Fees

Drum kit and percussion instructor rates vary depending on the academic credentials and teaching experience of each instructor. 30 minute drum lessons range from $25–$35 per lesson, 45 minute drum lessons from $37.50–$52.50 per lesson and 60 minute drum lessons from $50–$70 per lesson. All drum kit and percussion lessons are weekly, unless otherwise specified.

We offer flexible lesson times. Beginner students seeking private drum kit or percussion lessons generally start with a half hour lesson once a week. Once a student’s skill level has moved up to an intermediate level, drum kit or percussion lesson times usually increase to 45 minutes once a week. Students with a high level of commitment who have progressed to advanced repertoire increase their drum kit or percussion lesson time to one hour per week.
