Ava Glendinning

Ava Glendinning is a musician and educator based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She has been performing regularly since 2010, playing guitar, bass, and synth in numerous groups whose genres span indie, folk, country, rock, new-wave, pop, and jazz. She also songwrites for her indie duo, Bicycle Face, with whom she has recorded music videos, toured Western Canada, and released two EPs and an outer space-themed concept album.

As a solo guitarist under the name Ava Wray, she seeks to weave tradition and innovation, performing original compositions and arrangements of pop and jazz tunes.

Ava holds a B.Mus. in Jazz Performance from Brandon University, and attended the Banff Centre’s Musicians in Residence: Jazz and Creative Music program in 2021. A passionate teacher, she has taught guitar lessons since 2008, and volunteers as a board member and instructor for We Rock Winnipeg, a summer music camp for girls and trans and nonbinary kids.
