MCMA Adult Choir-6:30 pm (fall)
Ages 18+. If you are an adult singer looking for community, shared experience, and a supportive, no pressure musical environment, the MCMA Adult Choir might be exactly the right fit! Led by the incomparable Chrystl Bartel, singers of all experience levels will explore a “formal” choral experience, using varied repertoire to learn singing in parts. This choir which will reflect an inspirational context focusing on peace, love and kindness and include Canadian composers, musical theatre, sacred selections, pop music and show tunes. Students are not expected to know how to read choral music and this concept will be well supported. All skill levels and voice types are welcome!
A Cappella Singing for Adults-1:30 pm (fall)
Ages 18+. Have you ever listened to a barbershop quartet or choir sing in perfect harmony and been mesmerized by the sounds? Are you an adult singer of any experience level looking for a unique musical experience to share with other music lovers, while fostering a sense of community? Our new A Cappella Singing for Adults group will focus on discovering new skills in a supportive, low pressure environment where students feel safe to try new things while allowing their voices and ears to develop. The goal is to focus on listening and working together, first in unison and eventually in multiple harmonies as you explore multiple genres of music and sound together. Led by the incomparable Chrystl Bartel, prepare yourself to exceed your own musical expectations! This program includes two (optional) recital opportunities per year.

Musical Storytime-9:30 am (fall)
Ages 2-3. We’ll explore various themes each week through singing, movement, instrument exploration, and books. This hands-on group is a fun and engaging place to introduce your child to early musical concepts, build social connections, and foster a love for music!
Adventures in Music-10:30 am (fall)
Ages 4-5. This un-parented group will use a variety of instruments, movement songs, and familiar tunes to create a fun space for connecting and making music. It is a great class for kids who are ready to start learning simple musical skills such as pitch matching, keeping a steady beat, and changing tempos.
Musical Storytime-11:30 am (fall)

Intro to Ukulele for Adults-1:30 pm (fall)
Ages 18+. Are you an adult who has always wanted to learn an instrument? Ukulele is an incredibly accessible and fun way to explore musicianship at any age. This four week introduction to chords, strumming, and singing to your favourite classics is a great way to pursue that dream of playing an instrument as an adult. This class is all about fun, camaraderie, and shared experiences in a space reserved for adults! Instruments are provided.
Intro to Vocal Technique for Blues and Jazz Singers-2 pm (fall)
Ages 18+. We are pleased to introduce a class that focuses strictly on vocal technique for Jazz, Blues and similar styles of singing. Led by MCMA Vocal Workshop Instructor Adèle M. Wilding, singers will be introduced to basic skills to facilitate effective singing: posture, breathing and support, and vocal placement, among other skills. Weeks one to four will explore basic technique. Weeks five and six will feature song sharing activities.
Blues and Jazz Singing for Adults-3 pm (fall)
Ages 18+. If you love to sing Jazz or Blues and/or have participated in our past Blues Singing for Adults classes, this is the class for you! This student-led class will focus on repertoire building, performance technique and song sharing in both genres. Although new jazz and blues songs will be explored, participants are encouraged to bring songs from their own repertoire to each class. Weeks one to four will explore the above learning objectives, while weeks five and six will prepare singers for performance settings. This class overlaps with the Vocal Technique for Jazz and Blues Singing. Registration for the Vocal Technique class is encouraged but not necessary.
