Our Baby Beats parented early childhood music program for babies ages 0-3 focuses on musical foundations and social skill development. Babies gain fine and gross motor skills, learn how to wait their turn, discover tempo and rhythm by dancing and playing with scarves or body percussion, match pitch and find joy in musical storytelling.

The in-person version of this children’s group music class takes place at a variety of satellite locations around Winnipeg, Manitoba: Scout Coffee (1199 Rothesay Street, Winnipeg) the Cornish Library (20 West Gate, Winnipeg), St. James-Assiniboia Library (1910 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg), and Louis Riel Library (1168 Dakota Street, Winnipeg).

Our Baby Beats music program is the first step in your child’s musical journey. At the Manitoba Conservatory of Music & Arts, babies who show an interest in music should start with Baby Beats. As your child gets older, they will progress into our Musical Storytime program for 2-3 year-olds, followed by Adventures in Music for 4-5 year-olds. Next, we suggest our Intro to Instruments program for 4-7 year-olds. These group music classes will introduce your child to a different instrumental discipline each week, letting them decide what they like best as they transition into private instruction. Another option for children who are ready for private lessons, but haven’t chosen an instrument yet is our Musical Foundations program for 4-6 year-olds. With these 30 minute introductory music lessons, your child will gain exposure to singing, piano, recorder, ukulele, and percussion instruments while developing skills in an individual setting. Once your child has chosen an instrument, and is ready for private music lessons, you can request a free consultation to get started.

Keep an eye on this page for registration information. Spots tend to fill quickly, so we recommend registering early!

To register, click on the purple “Get Tickets” button for your desired group class. If the purple “Get Tickets” button is not visible, that means the class is either full, or the class has already started. Next, click on the plus sign on the ticket to select the desired amount of tickets. Then click on the purple “Get Tickets” button. Fill in the registration information for each student, then click on the purple “Checkout Now” button.

If the class is full, click on the purple “notify me” button to get notified if a spot becomes available.
