Facilities
Our facilities are designed to build musical focus and community, resulting in a high achievement rate!
As part of our musical community, students are encouraged to drop by to practice or jam in any open studio free of charge during regular office hours. Simply call our office at 204-988-7650 or stop by to book a studio. Practice space is subject to availability, with most studios in use after 4 pm on weekdays and on Saturday mornings. Practice studios are available until 8 pm on weekdays and until 4 pm on Saturdays.
The Manitoba Conservatory of Music & Arts is located at the University of Winnipeg in Bryce Hall (515 Portage Avenue). Bryce Hall is the building where the chapel is located–directly east of Wesley Hall (the “castle” building). The entrance to Bryce Hall is off the walkway between Wesley Hall and Bryce Hall.
Please use the buzzer to access the building on weekends and after 6 pm on weekdays.
Parking
There are several bus stops nearby, including directly in front of Wesley Hall (the “castle” building) on Portage Avenue, and a rapid transit bus stop across from Bryce Hall on Balmoral Street. There is street parking available (keep in mind our entrance is near Portage Avenue and Balmoral Street). Street parking is free on Saturdays for two hours, and Sundays are free all day. Or you can park in the Axworthy Parkade (accessible off of Young Street). To view a parking map, please click here.
Accessibility
The chapel and ensemble room (where we hold most of our group classes) are both accessible by a ramp outside Bryce Hall. To be let into Bryce Hall once you’ve reached the top of the ramp, please call our office at 204-988-7650. Once you enter the building, you’ll find a gender neutral, accessible washroom available to you. This is next to the entrance to our ensemble room. We also have an accessible studio with a piano available to you on the main floor.
