Onna Lou is an Argentine-Canadian singer-songwriter, composer, producer and music educator based in Winnipeg. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Writing & Production from Berklee College of Music, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and a degree in Classical Composition from Universidad Católica Argentina.

With more than 12 years of teaching experience and over 4,000 private lessons taught, Onna works with children, teens and adults in voice, guitar, ukulele, songwriting, composition, arranging and music theory. Her teaching is highly individualized, combining strong musical foundations with creativity, curiosity and the development of each student’s unique artistic voice.

Alongside her work as an educator, Onna maintains an active career as a recording and touring artist. She was nominated for Global Artist of the Year at the 2023 Western Canadian Music Awards, and her album Diamante spent 15 weeks on the Earshot charts, reaching #1 on three charts. She has performed hundreds of shows across Canada, Argentina and the United States and has received support from major Canadian arts organizations and funding bodies. Her professional experience also includes artist mentorship, workshop facilitation and program leadership.

Onna recently completed a Diploma in Professional Counselling, adding another dimension to her longstanding interest in mentorship, personal growth and the relationship between creativity and wellbeing. Her teaching emphasizes a supportive, engaging environment where students can build confidence, develop their skills and find their own authentic musical voice.
