Ana is a passionate and intuitive vocal instructor, focusing on her student’s individuality and needs. She has taught private voice lessons to students ages 8 to adults (in-person and online), provided Masterclasses at Concordia University of Edmonton to undergraduate-level students, and facilitated numerous seminars, workshops, and presentations professionally and throughout her degrees.
Ana holds a Master of Music in Opera and Voice Performance from McGill University, a Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance from the University of British Columbia, and a diploma in Voice Performance from the University of Manitoba. Her pedagogical pedigree includes studying with Tracy Dahl, Dominique Labelle, Dr. Leanne Regehr, Michael McMahon, and Stephen Hargreaves. Upon completing her studies, Ana gained teaching experience at the Manitoba Conservatory of Music & Arts, at the Manitoba Theatre for Young People, and at the Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs, before expanding and discovering her true passion for working with advanced performers.. She focuses on teaching vocal and performance technique; vocal health and embodiment; preparing singers for performances and auditions; providing language and diction coaching in the operatic languages; and coaching actors in scene work. Most recently, she used her fluency in the Ukrainian language to provide diction coaching for Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre’s production of ‘Yaga’, as well as provided literary translation for Manitoba Opera for the children’s book ‘Opera Cat’. Ana maintains a fluency in Ukrainian (mother tongue), English (first language), and French, as well as strong performing language skills in Italian, Spanish, and German. She has studied diction and their corresponding languages for over six years throughout her degrees, role studies and performances, and practical language use. Ana has studied the International Phonetic Alphabet for the standard operatic languages (English, French, Italian, and German) and is familiar with the cyrillic alphabet.
With Manitoba Opera, Ana develops and provides workshops for elementary-aged students throughout the Winnipeg area in storytelling and opera. She continues to develop workshops and workbooks about creativity, artistry, and character development for the curious and self-led artist.
Ana is a teaching artist who actively performs in the community and throughout Canada.
