Amber Epp is a versatile vocalist, pianist, and educator with deep expertise in jazz, Afro-Cuban, and Brazilian music, as well as classical piano and adult beginner methods. Fluent in the stylistic nuances of Spanish (Afro-Cuban) and Portuguese (Brazilian), Amber brings an authentic perspective to every lesson. Amber performs regularly in the city as a solo artist, with Latin bands Papa Mambo, Trio Bembe, and Curubandé, and has been a guest performer with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra, and has performed at the Winnipeg Jazz Fest, Winnipeg Folk Fest, Folklorama, CCFM, West End Cultural Centre, Park Theatre, toured in Western Canada and the Maritimes, and most recently, performed at the Festival Internacional Jazz Plaza in Havana, Cuba.

With a strong foundation in both piano and voice, Amber specializes in demystifying music: harmony, rhythm, chords, reading music, improvising, and writing or arranging songs. Whether guiding a beginner at the piano, coaching a student through a blues progression, or helping a budding musician arrange their first original piece, Amber’s teaching bridges technical skill with creative freedom.

As an educator, Amber believes that learning music should empower, not intimidate. Lessons are interactive and student-led, focusing on the tools needed to reach goals set by the student. Students gain confidence to play, sing, and create what they love. Drawing on extensive experience of teaching private lessons for 20 years, Amber creates a supportive space where curiosity drives growth.
