Jeffrey Acosta (he/him) is a music educator, performer, and arts leader based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. With over a decade of teaching and performance experience, along with years working in arts administration, Jeffrey has worked and mentored students from beginner through advanced levels, helping them develop both technical skill and a lifelong love of music.
A graduate of Brandon University with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance, Jeffrey’s versatility spans across many genres of music. Through many musical opportunities, Jeffrey has had the privilege to support and share the stage with many local groups and artists such as the Dirty Catfish Brass Band, The Solutions, Retro Rhythm Review, Big City All Stars, and Begonia. His performance experience expands outside of the province, having performed in venues in Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.
Jeffrey’s teaching emphasizes strong fundamentals and expressive performance. He brings an encouraging, student-centered approach that adapts to each learner’s goals and learning style, whether they are preparing for school band, festival performance, or personal enrichment. All teaching approaches are aimed to be inclusive and accessible, ensuring the best experience possible.
When not teaching, Jeffrey enjoys indoor gardening, discovering a new hobby, and spending time with his four cats.
