COST: $25  |  INSTRUCTOR: Eric St. Godard

Jazz music is an adventure for your ears, your mind, and your soul.  From the syncopated rhythms and bounce of Dixieland and New Orleans Jazz to the relaxed and mellow tempos of Cool Jazz, it is an experience of sound and emotion.  Join jazz musician Eric St. Godard for a exploration of the beginning of jazz from the 1800s to the eclectic 1960s.  This interactive session will include jazz history, listening to some of the great jazz musicians, and Eric will mix in some live playing examples in a variety of jazz styles.  For musicians and non-musicians alike, this class will help you gain a stronger understanding of the foundations and context of jazz music and how it evolved over during its first 100 years.
