Crystal White


Crystal White is a musician with diverse musical interests. Her primary instruments are double bass and euphonium, and she enjoys learning any instrument she can get her hands on. Crystal got her classical training at Brandon University (BMus) and the University of Minnesota (MMus). She also started singing and playing jazz from a young age. Crystal currently works as a freelance bassist, subbing for orchestras including the Winnipeg’s Symphony Orchestra, and she is the bassist for the Brandon Chamber Players. She also on faculty teaching classical double bass at the Brandon University School of Music. When not playing or teaching music, Crystal enjoys spending time with her three daughters, gardening, and Irish dancing.

What is your education and experience?

I have a bachelor or music from Brandon University (euphonium and double bass), and a master of music from the University of Minnesota (double bass).

What makes your lessons different from the rest?

I love teaching and helping my students succeed. Every lesson is customized for each student depending on their goals and present challenges.

What do you love about teaching?

My favourite part about teaching is watching my students reach their musical milestones small and great.

Anyone can learn and play music, and it will bring you joy – so go for it!
