Choosing a Teacher

The student/teacher combination always has an impact on the student’s learning, achieving and enjoyment of their musical experience.

The Conservatory’s Student Services staff will be happy to assist you in choosing a Faculty member who represents the opportunity for synergy with your student. In fact, we feel it would be neglectful to take a lottery approach to this important decision — especially when you have a Faculty of more than 60 from which to choose.

That’s why you can’t register on-line for instruction at the Conservatory. Our process includes a face-to-face meeting with Student Services; assessing the student needs and matching them with a Faculty member. It may even include a free consultation/ trial lesson so we can make the best recommendation. We’re happy to help you make most informed choice possible.

If you would like to take lessons with a specific faculty member, we would be more than happy to arrange it (depending on fit, scheduling and availability).

A Shorter Learning Curve

Having the right teacher means there is a chance you could have same teacher for 2 or even 10 years. That continuity can make the musical journey smoother, shorter, and more fun. At the Conservatory, our teacher/student matching service makes this possible.

And if you need nuanced instruction — you can move on and still maintain all your important musical connections.
