BIOGRAPHY

Tim Roth is completing his Bachelor of Music in Performance (Percussion) at the University of Manitoba studying with Victoria Sparks and Brendan Thompson. His studies have led to a great diversity of performance opportunities, including large ensembles such as the University of Manitoba Symphony and Wind Ensemble, chamber music with the University of Manitoba Percussion Ensemble, and solo performances including opening for Dame Evelyn Glennie’s 2016 Manitoba Chamber Orchestra performance.  Tim is also a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, and has played marching and concert percussion with the Regimental Band of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles since 2015.

Tim studied piano for 10 years and percussion for 3 years prior to enrolling in the Faculty of Music. He completed the Private Rank qualification with the Canadian Armed Forces for music in 2017 in Borden, Ontario.

Tim is enthusiastically looking forward to sharing ideas and principles of music with his students and helping them explore the diverse and interesting world of percussion music.
