Biography
Tanya Derksen has been the Education and Outreach Manager with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra since October 2006. During her time, the Education and Outreach Department has grown to include more education programs and new outreach initiatives. Tanya graduated from Brandon University with her Bachelor of Music Degree, majoring in piano. She was a full-time piano/theory instructor for five years, and is still active as a piano teacher in Winnipeg. She has accompanied numerous choirs and soloists, , and acts as an adjudicator with the Associated Manitoba Arts Festivals. (AMAF). Tanya is currently a part-time MBA student at the University of Manitoba, Asper School of Business. She is passionate about music and arts education.
