Biography

Susan Watkins, a native of Newfoundland, graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Memorial University of Newfoundland and has recently completed the Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Vocal Performance at the University of Manitoba.

Susan graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Memorial University of Newfoundland and has recently completed the Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Vocal Performance at the University of Manitoba.

Career Highlights

During her studies, she has had the privilege of working with some of Canada’s finest musicians: Cheryl Hickman, Elizabeth Turnbull, Rob Herriot and most recently, Mel Braun, Monica Huisman and Tracy Dahl.

Susan has performed the role of Cleopatra in Manitoba Underground’s performance of Giulio Cesare, Pamina in Memorial University’s production of Die Zauberflöte, La Fée in the MUN Opera Roadshow production of Cenrdillon and covered the role of Miss Wordsworth from Opera on the Avalon’s production of Albert Herring. Most recently, she has premiered Luke Nickel’s Ophiuchus Rising at the 2012 Cluster Festival, performed the soprano role in Warwick’s The Velveteen Rabbit with The Little Opera Company and was involved in a mentorship program with Manitoba Opera during their performance of Daughter of the Regiment.
