Rachel has a deep passion for music and has been performing and studying violin for 20 years. She began playing the violin with the Suzuki Program located at the University of Manitoba at the age of three. While growing up in Winnipeg she played for the Winnipeg Youth Orchestras and competed in many Winnipeg Music Festival classes. She performed at International Music Camp as concertmaster and participated in the chamber programs Dakota Chamber Music (Minot, ND) as well as Rosamunde Summer Music Academy. She was both a member and soloist for the Mennonite Community Orchestra. She recently played with the University of Manitoba Symphony Orchestra and was concertmaster for one term. She studied violin performance with Elation Pauls, WSO second violinist, at the Canadian Mennonite University. She currently participates in gigs around the city including an annual benefit concert.
Rachel began her teaching career in 2013 and has enjoyed every minute. She believes that the benefits of developing a passion and understanding of music are life long.
