Specializes In:Early Childhood Music Programs
As a musician and educator, Kristen Malbranck is happy to be back in her hometown of Winnipeg after having worked in Western and Eastern Canada. She is passionate about connecting children to the world of music, promoting imagination and creativity in young people, and engaging children in the discovery and fun of music making. Kristen has created and facilitated children’s programs for over 15 years that are whimsical, musical, theatrical, and are full of movement and imaginative play. Throughout her career she has delivered children’s programs to diverse communities, arts organizations, museums, festivals, schools, and early childhood centres.
Kristen developed a love of music at a young age and began playing the piano at the age of five. This lead her to study the piano as a child, followed by classical voice lessons as a teenager, and jazz voice studies as a young adult. Recently, she earned a Bachelor of Music from McGill University, majoring in jazz voice and minoring in music education. She actively performs in the local music scene, singing jazz, folk, soul music and chanson française. Kristen began her early music career as a student and staff member at the Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Arts, and is excited to once again be a part of the team!
