Biography
Beth Hamilton has taught violin lessons for 7 years, and it is one of her favourite things to do! She has taught classical violin and fiddling to children and adults at many different skill levels. She believes that learning is fun, and that music is for everyone! Beth started playing violin when she was 7 years old, and hasn’t put it down since! Beth studied classical violin, and has played in Celtic and French Canadian fiddle groups since she was a kid. After many years, and a lot of practice, she went to the University of Manitoba Faculty of Music, where she majored in Music History and Violin. She graduated with honours in 2008. During her studies at the U of M Faculty of Music, Beth also studied anatomy and injury prevention, and music teaching for children. Beth loves working with children, and spent a year volunteering and substitute teaching at the Crescent wood Centre for Montessori and Orff. Always eager to learn, Beth has recently completed a Master’s Degree in Musicology and Medieval Studies at the University of Ottawa. She also loves to sing, play the guitar, and write songs. She recorded and released an album of original songs in 2009, called A Beautiful Scene. She wrote and recorded all the violin parts on the album.
Education/Training
